The Washtenaw County Circuit Court, located in downtown Ann Arbor, is a court that has different personalities all wrapped together. Combining the liberal attitudes of Ann Arbor with the conservative farming communities of the more rural parts of Washtenaw County, you end up with a court that can be both extremely fair and very tough on felony criminal defendants.

The Washtenaw County Circuit Court handles all felony cases in the cities of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Milan, Saline, and Chelsea.  As to villages, the Wastenaw County Circuit Court holds jurisdiction over Barton Hills, Dexter, and Manchester.  Regarding Charter Townships, the 22nd Circuit Court handles all felony cases arising from Ann Arbor, Augusta, Pittsfield, Superior, York, and Ypsilanti Charter Townships.  The Washtenaw County Circuit Court also handles all criminal felony cases arising from the following Townships: Bridgewater; Dexter; Freedom; Lima; Lodi; Lyndon; Manchester; Northfield; Salem; Saline; Scio; Sharon; Sylvan; and Webster Townships.
