Flint’s Federal Courthouse Has Been the Site of Some of Michigan’s Most Serious Criminal Cases

The Federal Court of Flint

The moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice.

The Flint Federal Court

Located on Church Street in downtown Flint, the Federal District Court of Flint is a sister court to the Detroit Federal Court and a member of the Eastern District of Michigan court system. Unfortunately, Flint gets a bad rap because of things like the water crises and issues with crime. We think that Flint’s reputation is unjust, as we love the City of Flint almost as much as we love practicing law in the Flint Federal Courthouse.

Judge Leitman, a Lawyer’s Judge

Judge Matthew Leitman sits as the Federal Judge for the Federal Court of Flint. Judge Leitman is an extremely intelligent legal mind. Before he was a judge, on his own time he would pro bono help people accused of serious federal crimes. As the head of the Flint Federal Court, Judge Leitman has taken his experiences and intelligence and become one of the great federal judges in the entire 6th Circuit! We have handled cases before Judge Leitman and find that you better know your legal arguments because the Judge has read every case you cited. This is a good thing though as a federal criminal lawyer, because we want judges who understand and follow the law and are not afraid to protect the rights of the accused.
